Our Favorite Podcasts: March 2020

It may not come as a surprise to you at this point, but the Tresta team is officially practicing social distancing and working from home. There are some positive aspects to working from home. For instance, you’re not disrupted as much throughout the day (unless there are children present) and you get to play with your dog. But, like many, many others throughout the U.S. and all over the world, we’ve found that this can also be isolating. So we’re filling the social void with some of our favorite podcasts.

The Startup Life

Hosted by Dominic Lawson, The Startup Life helps entrepreneurs grow their business. Lawson interviews top business leaders, and provides lessons for career-minded professionals, working to climb the corporate ladder. His March 10th episode features Alyssa F. Westring, an award-winning business professor and author of Parents Who Lead: The Leadership Approach You Need to Parent with Purpose, Fuel Your Career, and Create a Richer Life. Listen to it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Brave + Boss

Kristi Soomer hosts Brave + Boss, a podcast for purpose-driven eCommerce bosses. She provides insights on growing eCommerce businesses, fueled by her own experience as the CEO of a 7-figure ethical clothing brand, Encircled. On her March 12 podcast, she delivered “6 Steps to Be More Visible as the CEO of Your Business“, discussing the benefits and tactics you can employ to share your story and find real value in being more visible. Check it out on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.

This one is great for real estate investors. J and Carol Scott, left their careers to launch a house-flipping business. Now, they’re the hosts of BiggerPockets‘ Business Podcast. Each week, together with their guests, they deliver actionable tips on running a real estate investment business. Their latest podcast focuses on the Coronavirus: Business Strategies to Adapt, Dangers to Heed, and Opportunities to Watch For with Andrew Sherman. Sherman is a D.C. based corporate and transactional lawyer, author, and adjunct professor. If you’re looking for tips on navigating the pandemic, give it a listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Code Story

Hosted by Noah Labhart, Code Story focuses on the world of digital startups. Each week, they feature tech startups and founders’ stories. This week’s episode featured Dennis Cail of Zirtue, a relationship-based lending app that helps facilitate loans with friends, families, and trusted relationships. Hear more about his life and the chain of events that led him to creating Zirtue on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Bonus: If you’re interested in deep tracks, Code Story also recently did an episode with Startups.com founder, Wil Schroter, which we highly recommend. Check it out.
